Day 1: Welcome to Russia

Flight to Moscow from Europe – about available airports we inform after sending request - , then flight to Irkutsk, arriving the next morning local time.

Day 2: Lake Baikal - The Pearl of Siberia

Arrival in Irkutsk in the early morning local time and transfer to your hotel on the lake in Listvyanka.
You stay in the hotel Baikal Chalet, rooms with bath, shower, toilet. 
You wake up to a good breakfast, there will be an eight-hour time difference in the winter of 2012 for the first time to Europe, since Russia has abolished the changeover to winter time. Have a rest this morning. 1773 Listvyanka first mentioned as a post office, at the end of the 19th Century the settlement was quite wealthy and has more than 700 residents.

 
You attend a church service at the Nikolai Church, located in the heart of Listvjanka Krestovskaya in the valley. One legend from the 19th century says that the Russian merchant Xenofont Serebjakow was in trouble, and out of gratitude over his safe arrival in what is now Listvyanka Serebjakow he built the small wooden church.

Your walk continues through the fishing village of Listvyanka, you visit the market near the harbour, where the Baikal omul fish is smoked in combination with other types of fish and sold. The flavourful fish is a representative within the trout fish family. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Trip on a dog sled



Today you take your dog sled ride through the surrounding forests in snowy Siberian National Park. After a short introduction and depending on your weight 3-4 dogs will pull you, if you have found more security, even 6-8 Huskies are harnessed to your sled. To your "team" includes the Siberian husky sled dogs, their original homeland, the northern Siberia, where they were indispensable companion for thousands of yearsr.
You will travel over 10 kilometers today. Then you visit the Baikal Museum, which gives you an overview of the unique flora and fauna. It continues with a trip to a beautiful place overlooking the lake.

The "Tscherskogo Rock" is 757 meters high and reached by cable car comfortably. At the top you have a wonderful view over the Lake Baikal to Port Baikal, a cafe / restaurant invites you to linger there, in the evening will be served Baikal specialties. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Talzy Museum, Irkutsk and Lake Baikal legends

 

During your visit to the Museum Talzy you will experience the old Siberia. This wooden architecture museum was established by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and is a place of cultural heritage of the Russian people.

City tour along the Angara river near Lake Baikal town Irkutsk and visit to the market hall.

Exclusive barbecue in the evening for you and Baikal Legends: The legend says that the old Angara Baikal loved his only daughter madly. When she escaped one day to her lover Yenisei, the father threw a large stone at her out of anger. (B, L, D)

Day 5: With snowmobiles to B. Koty



After breakfast you drive with snowmobiles through the Siberian forests to B. Koty. A small settlement first came into being in the mouth of the river in the 17th century, B. Koty lies on the western shore of Lake Baikal, the settlement itself is a typical village of Lake Baikal, but already 300 years old. The largest part of the Buryat people are living mainly from fishing and hunting.
Around noon picnic and tea in the taiga. The return trip you can take through the woods or more simple on the frozen Lake Baikal. Return to Listvyanka in the afternoon. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Excursion to Baikal railway ring and winter picnic on the lake

Today you take cars over the lake to the place of the old Polovinnaja Baikal railway. Winter walk along the Baikal Railway.



Picnic lunch on the lake. Walk through the small village Polovinnaja. Return to Listvyanka by late afternoon. For all fans of the train: Today we offer a trip with the original Baikal railway "Matanja" without extra charge. Travel from Polovinnaja to Port Baikal along the Baikal Lake, from there you have transfer back to Listvjanka. (B, L, D).

 



Day 7: Winter vacation on Lake Baikal: hovercraft and horse-drawn sleigh ride

In the morning horse-drawn sleigh ride through Listvjanka. Enjoy this winter at Lake Baikal with an airboat ride on the lake. We are happy to assist you in organizing small enterprises in the afternoon as ice fishing, downhill or cross country skiing and jeep safaris. Cost for these afternoon excursions are not included in the tour price and must be paid locally. (B, L, D)



Day 8: Journey back via Moscow

After breakfast, transfer to airport for return flight via Moscow. (F)

For this trip, a passport is required, which is valid for at least 6 months over the end of the trip. For the Russian visa you need a two-page spread in the passport. Please note that you need a valid health insurance for visa application. We are happy to inform you about the expiry of a visa application and provide you with all necessary documents for free.
